Chatterbox Learning Korea LLC (hereinafter referred to as the “Company”) complies with the Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce and other relevant Korean laws. To protect the rights and interests of our members, the Company operates a refund policy as outlined below.
Article 1. Cases Where Refunds Are Not Available
Refunds will not be granted in the following cases:
- The course period has expired or less than half of the course duration remains. (e.g., For a 30-day pass, refunds are not allowed when 15 or fewer days remain.)
- The remaining number of lessons is half or less of the total lessons. (e.g., For a 6-lesson package, refunds are not available when 3 or fewer lessons remain.)
- Lessons that have already been completed or deducted. (e.g., Lessons canceled within 24 hours of the scheduled time or no-shows by the student.)
- Lesson credits provided free of charge.
- Lesson packages that have been extended beyond the original validity period.
- Lesson packages purchased through promotional events where benefits other than discounts (e.g., free gifts, coupons) have already been used.
- Refund requests made after account termination (withdrawal from membership).
Article 2. Refund Eligibility
- Full Refund
A full refund is available only if no lessons have been deducted from the lesson package. - Partial Refund
If any lessons have been used, a partial refund may be issued based on the following calculation:
Refund Calculation Formula:
Refund Amount = Actual Payment – (Used Lesson Value + Cancellation Fee)
- Actual Payment: The total amount paid excluding any discounts, coupons, or points used at the time of payment.
- Used Lesson Value:
- For paid lessons:
Actual Payment × (Number of Used Lessons ÷ Total Number of Lessons) - For free lessons:
Calculated based on the standard consumer price determined by EnglishChatter.
- For paid lessons:
- Cancellation Fee: Up to 10% of the actual payment.
Article 3. Refund Request and Processing
- Refunds must be requested through the EnglishChatter Customer Support Center, either via phone or email ([email protected]).
- Once a request is submitted, your identity and payment records will be verified by the relevant department. You will be notified of the final refund amount and processing results.
- Refunds will be issued using the original payment method, unless both parties agree to an alternative method.
- Transaction fees incurred by payment service providers (e.g., PayPal, credit card companies, banks) may be deducted from the refund amount.
- Lesson credits issued through third-party platforms or affiliates (e.g., partner promotions, giveaways) may be non-refundable depending on the policies of the respective providers.
Article 4. Additional Notes
This refund policy is subject to change in accordance with applicable laws or internal policy updates. Any changes will be notified in advance and posted on the official website.
